Meet Patti Bishop – Watercolor Artist & Creative Spirit Based in Smyrna, Delaware, artist and designer Patti Bishop creates original watercolor home décor, custom watercolor home portraits, and charming gifts inspired by floral beauty, nautical charm, and farmhouse warmth. Her work is deeply rooted in her family’s legacy—three generations of potato farmers. From her great-grandfather to her grandfather and father, the family worked the coastal soil of Delaware, cultivating more than crops: they instilled a love of land, nature, and hard work. Patti’s grandmothers were both artists in their own right, adding creativity and craft into the everyday. Together, these influences shaped Patti’s creative path and her appreciation for both beauty and heritage. Growing up on her family’s vegetable farm near the beach, Patti found endless inspiration in blooming florals, ocean breezes, and rustic textures that surrounded her. Today, those memories continue to guide her brushstrokes and design style, infusing every piece with a sense of home, nostalgia, and the heartfelt charm of farm life. With a background as an award-winning graphic designer, over 20 years of collegiate teaching experience, and a lifetime of artistic practice, Patti brings an elevated blend of artistry and professionalism to her work. Whether she’s sketching scenes from family history, experimenting with fresh watercolor palettes, or perfecting surface pattern designs late into the night, her passion for the creative process always shines through. Patti’s tools of choice include ARCHES cold press watercolor blocks, Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolors™, the Adobe Creative Suite, and Procreate—carefully selected to help bring her detailed, personal illustrations and patterns to life. Every piece featured on her website is an original design, crafted with intention and a deep connection to her roots.
